Types of massage techniques used:

Deep Tissue Massage is a type of bodywork used to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is highly effective in releasing chronic stress areas due to things such as misalignment and repetitive motions.

Sports Massage is massage designed for highly active people who engage in sports and exercise. Massage can help athletes in many way such as:  preventing injuries caused by repetitive motions; improving restricted range of motion; reducing adhesions; reducing delayed onset muscle soreness; reducing the stress from training and competitions.

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Cupping is a technique using cups and suction to create negative air pressure next to the skin which lifts it from the soft tissue underneath. This separation allows fluid to more freely nourish the tissue. Cupping decreases muscle pain and improves the flow of lymphatic fluids. It can be done using a stationary technique (which leaves the familiar purple circles on the skin) or in a moving method which does not leave marks. Either technique can be incorporated in a massage session.

Myoskeletal Alignment is a style of bodywork designed by Erik Dalton, PhD. It incorporates the techniques that affect both the body’s myofascial and skeletal systems by mobilizing joints through muscle manipulation.
